Dog Park Fundraising
The WAG Farms Dog Park Association has launched a fundraising program to help raise money for fencing at the new 14-acre off-leash dog park being built just south of the Highway 61/Jamaica Avenue interchange in Cottage Grove. The association needs about 4,000 feet of fencing for the park, which they plan to open this fall. Donors can buy laser-engraved bricks in honor of a pet or person that will be used to create a memorial garden within the park. Two sizes of bricks are available: 4-by-8 inch bricks for a $75 donation, or 8-by-8 inch bricks for a $150 donation. Donations are tax-deductible. To order a brick or get more information, e-mail wfdpassoc@comcast.net or call (651) 303-0940.
Donations Needed for Holiday Street Decorations
Thanks to everyone who participated in choosing our holiday decorations. As you may recall, the City recently showcased ten holiday decorations along 80th St. The City then asked residents to vote for their favorites. The winners were the Christmas tree, the candy cane with bow and the snowman banner.
Please show your support for festive holiday streets by making a donation to offset the costs which are being partially paid for by the City’s Economic Development Authority. The City would like to purchase between 20 and 25 of each type of decoration which costs between $189 and $343 a piece depending upon the number purchased.
Everyone who donates will receive a “Certificate of City Pride” and have their name appear in our annual report and on our web page. Any amount will be appreciated $5, $10, $50 or more. Please make checks out to: The City of Cottage Grove and write Holiday Decorations on the memo line and let us know if you do not want your name to appear in our annual report or on our web page. Please send donations to City of Cottage Grove attn: Finance Dept, 7516 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016. Any questions please call Ken at 651-458-2882. Thanks for taking pride in our City.
