The Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides the future actions of a community. It presents a vision for the future and the policies and strategies the community will undertake to get to that future. All land-use decisions, including zoning, subdivision review, and development controls, must be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan is currently being updated, as the Metropolitan Council requires all municipal comprehensive plans within the seven county Twin Cities metropolitan area to update their plans before Dec. 31, 2018.
